The valley of wine and roses. The home of Rooiberg Winery.

Situated in the picturesque Breede River Valley, below the clock peaks of the Langeberg range, its beauty not only lies in its spectacular setting, but in the great acclaim won in South Africa and around the world for the production of outstanding wines. The valley of wine and roses. The home of Rooiberg Winery.

Rooiberg was established in 1964 and it now has 34 members contributing from individually owned farms around the cellar. The cellar is situated approximately 140 km from Cape Town on the R60 road between Worcester and Robertson.

The vineyards, planted in four different regions, are rich in lime and with our unique climate these regions are able to produce outstanding wines. It is these specific micro-climates that influences the flavour of our wines - the reason why the wines from Rooiberg Winery are becoming known and appreciated throughout the world.

The grapes are processed in a modern, technologically advanced wine-cellar by a team of motivated winemakers . Rooiberg Winery has earned impressive awards during the years and was nominated as the South African Champion Wine-cellar in 1978, 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1986. Since then , Rooiberg Winery has had the distinction of being the top achiever in the Robertson area, with several double gold and gold awards.

The wine growers at this cellar also continue to experiment with cultivars and techniques, creating a wide variety of wines to suit virtually the entire range of tastes to be enjoyed on every occasion. Rooiberg's wines grace the best of tables worldwide.
