Vineyard Detail:
Selected vineyards with a history for good quality grapes. Trellised vines planted on Karoo-soil on the slopes. Grafted predominantly on Richter 99 and 101/104 rootstock. Irrigated on a scientifically planned irrigation program for quality improvement.
Vinification:
Harvested in the morning to keep temperature lower. After destemming and crushing, it's cooled down to 15°C. Only free-run juice is used and left to settle overnight for clarification. Racking the clear juice to a fermentation tank where it's inoculated with selected yeast. Cold fermentation to capture flavours and freshness. After fermentation great care is taken to preserve flavours and freshness before bottling.

Winemaker's Comment:
The freshness and youth is reflected in the greenish tint of the wine. The flavour is well in balance with the aroma and is crisp, clean and lingering on the aftertaste.
Served:
Best enjoyed if served at 11°C with light summer meals, potjie, picnic or on its own.
McGregor After Five Pinotage / Ruby Cabernet - 3 litre
Inviting bouquet of ripe berries complimented by sweet French oak flavours

Vineyard Detail:
Planted on red and yellowish Karoo-soil, grafted predominantly on 101/104 rootstock and trellised on an extended cordon system. Controlled irrigation is applied according to ground moisture measurement. Optimum viticultural practices are applied to deliver high quality grapes and wine.
Vinification:
Destemmed and crushed before tartaric acid added and initiation of fermentation. Automatic pumpover during fermentation to extract maximum colour and flavour. After malolactic fermentation a 4 months partial wood maturation rounds off the wine.

Winemaker's Comment:
A deep purple red colour contributes to the fullness of this wine. Inviting bouquet of ripe berries complimented by chocolate and French oak flavour enhance the complexity of this medium-bodied red win.
